Music of FATA,

FATA Being a part of Pushtoon Society shares the taste of Pushto Music. Pushto Music has its own colour, though it has touches of Arabic, Persian and Indian music. There is little difference among various parts of FATA. The south two agencies, i.e North and South Waziristan have a bit different taste of music compared to other parts. Here in these two agencies the liking of a big drum called DOLE or Typically Dell is more liked by the people as it helps the audience gain more rythm and similiarity in their Atan. In other parts i.e. North and central FATA Rabab(a string instrument resembling Guittar but with more strings and better manuers)is a necessary part of musical performances. Harmonium, Drum, Sorna (Shehnai) are other instruments. Basically the pushto music has been a mixture of indian Classical and Arabic music, Now even the folk music is getting colours of rock and other westren music. Actually when the regional music gets mixed with other musics it becomes more attractive. Jenifer lopez mellinium Song is an example, where one can feels even the pushtu music in an english song.
There are both male and female singers for folk. Unfortunately videos of female pushto/Tribal folk singers are not freely available as the society does not allow for making their videos but we are trying to get some audio or videos of the female folk singers of FATA
